The first session, Underground Geosystems Stability Assessment, started under the direction of the chair, Prof. Jong-Sub Lee. Two subsequent technical sessions were very well attended, entitled with Advanced Characterization Techniques for Geo-Infrastructure and Forensic Failure Assessment, respectively. In the two afternoon sessions, active questions and insightful comments on each presentation took place with about 200 attendees. Dr. Marc Ballouz, President of ISSMGE, delivered the invited lecture on Geotechnical Marriage between Theory & Practice. On behalf each regional geotechnical society, the invited speakers shared their recent studies on a theory, sensing, deep learning technique, and case studies for forensic engineering.

All in all, the dialogue generated between speakers and audience members in these sessions was particularly satisfying, because it showed an engaged geotechnical community. It is expected that 3rd ICACEFE scheduled to be held in 2024 also will be successful with unwavering interest and support.
