From January 10 (Tue) to 12 (Thu), 2023, “2^nd International Conference on ACE (Architectural, Civil, and Environmental) Forensic Engineering (2^nd ICACEFE)” was held through an online video conference under the theme of “Current Status of Forensic Engineering”. On January 12, the third day, three sessions related to water and environment were held, starting with a welcome greeting from Professor Donghwi Jung of Korea University.

The first session was chaired by Professor Donghwi Jung of Korea University under the theme of Water-Related Disaster Risk Reduction and Management. As the first presenter, Professor Donghwi Jung of Korea University discussed the latest machine learning models applied to disaster management in the field of water resource engineering through a lecture on “Disaster Risk Management in Water Resources Engineering: Machine Learning Approaches”. The second session was held under the theme of Hydrology and Climate Change, led by Professor Chulsang Yoo of Korea University, and a total of four speakers were presented, including a presentation about “No-Regret Climate Change Adaptation with Paradigm-Shifts in Japan” by Professor Eiichi Nakakita of Kyoto University.

Thanks to the enthusiastic lectures by the speakers and the participation of the audience, the water environment session on the last day of 2^nd ICACEFE ended successfully. It was a meaningful time to discuss the future of disaster response and analysis technology in the water and environment sectors through presentations by speakers. The 2^nd ICACEFE, which involved three areas, including water and environment, ended with great results, and the 3^rd ICACEFE, scheduled to be held in 2024, also expects constant attention and support.
